Apremo Socks

The Apremo socks are inspired by a pattern seen in the woven Kente cloths from Ghana.

This motif symbolises a canon and represents the skill and resistance of the Akan nations who defeated Europeans with their superior arms.

An Asantehene is said to have remarked: “The white man brought his canon to the bush but the bush was stronger than the canon.”

A crew length sock that sits about 6 inches above the ankle. A comfortable cotton and polyester knit sock. With the sale of each pair of socks, a donation from profits is given to the 9Miles Project.

9Miles Project is a registered non-profit organisation that was founded in Cape Town in 2013. The project works with youth in coastal informal settlements and provides mentorship and support to the at-risk youth in the areas of Cape Town, Elands Bay, and St Francis Bay.
